What is this?
If you’ve already signed the petition for Amendment 89, THANK YOU, and please help spread the word. If you have not already signed, please read below.
You must be a registered Colorado Voter. Help us protect abortion rights and expand access in Colorado by putting a constitutional amendment on the November 2024 ballot. Here are three reasons why we need to strengthen protections for reproductive healthcare:
1) Coloradans have repeatedly voted to defend abortion, but that doesn't mean it's protected. Our measure will write this freedom into the state constitution so that the right to abortion is protected for years and can’t be interfered with by future politicians.
2) People enrolled in state health insurance plans like teachers deserve to have access to full reproductive healthcare, and right now, they don’t.
3) Your healthcare decisions should be personal, and you should be free to make those decisions privately with your doctor.
Here is the full text of the constitutional amendment: THE RIGHT TO ABORTION IS HEREBY RECOGNIZED. GOVERNMENT SHALL NOT DENY, IMPEDE, OR DISCRIMINATE AGAINST THE EXERCISE OF THAT RIGHT, INCLUDING PROHIBITING HEALTH INSURANCE COVERAGE FOR ABORTION.
